Request For Quote: Skills Park Design

We’ve sent out an RFQ for the design of the skills park to 4 different park design companies.  We should get quotes back by December 15 and make a decision by the end of the year as to who will create the design for the park.  If all goes well, we’ll have a draft design by the middle of February.  If you or someone you know is a skills park designer and would like to submit a quote, please contact us to get details on the requirements.

I am wondering what’s going on with the Fish Creek Mountain Bike Skills Park? It looks as though it’s an abandoned project, which would really be unfortunate!

    Hi Sasha

The park is still under development, there has been some changes in design requirements so we’re working through those. Dirt is still being delivered to the park, so the park is progressing slowly.

Thanks for your response. I live nearby and haven’t seen any work being done or progress since last summer. Will you be needing volunteers to work on it this summer?

Well, the changes in design requirements were pretty significant. The new design is currently in front of the provincial government, awaiting assessment. The assessment process could take weeks or months for them to complete. Until that assessment turns into an approval, we’re playing the waiting game, and we might not get to build anything this year. It sucks, but there isn’t much we can do about it.

Thanks for the information. My nice and nephew go the bike park in Fernie and have been excited about a bike park being built here. We are interested in volunteering when the plan is approved and work is underway.

Hey hey, what's going on?
